Ba Gua Zhang Workshop Series

Ba Gua Zhang, or Eight Trigrams Palm, is an internal martial art with many similar qualities as
Tai Chi Chuan.  Bagua, however is practiced while continuously walking, and with proficiency
you are encouraged to increase speed making it a more rigorous workout. As with its sister art,
Bagua consists of philosophical, meditative, and energetic aspects in addition to the combative.

In this workshop series, you will learn Lao Ba Zhang, or 'Old 8 Palms' set.
This is the foundational set of Bagua and teaches all of the nuances and
signature techniques of the art. Movement, energy flow, and martial
applications of the set will be taught and practiced.

           These workshops are appropriate for
ALL levels. As an introductory series,
basic elements of the art will be taught, and reinforced through repetition
           and review.

NEW FOR 2011: more experienced Bagua stylists who have learned and reviewed this
set through various iterations of workshops and classes will begin learning the BA DA ZHANG,
or EIGHT BASE PALMS set.  This is a more advanced set, that builds on previous material
and futher develops the 'bagua body'.  We will also integrate the use of Deer Horn Knives
within the series as they apply to specific movements and applications.

Each session can be taken standalone, so don't worry if you miss sessions or just care to
drop in for one or two to see what this Bagua is all about!,
